| Appointments Jo Boothby is a Recorder of the Crown Court and he sits on the South Eastern Circuit.
| Practice Profile Jo has extensive experience of appearing in cases covering all areas of criminal law. His practice sees him appear as leading Counsel in the most serious cases of murder, rape and complex financial and drug related conspiracy cases.
These include acting as lead Counsel in a Russian mafia conspiracy case , acting as lead Counsel in a murder by husband of wife, lead Counsel on a two month fraud and four month revenue diversion conspiracy (case which went to the House of Lords)
In the early nineties Jo acted for the Gibraltar solicitors in the notorious Barlow Clowes trial.
He has been equally comfortable prosecuting as defending, acting as leading Counsel for British Telecom in fraud and deception cases, and extensively in rape and drug trafficking trials for the Crown Prosecution Service.
Jo has taught at the Council of Legal Education and regularly lectures the profession on topical criminal subjects.
