Practice Profile
Family

Lisa receives instructions on a range of family law matters. These include children law matters such as contact, residence and parental responsibility including contested final hearings and fact finding hearings. Lisa also represents parents and guardians in care proceedings. Lisa also has some experience dealing with ancillary relief matters at the early stages of these proceedings, including FDR hearings.

Lisa also regularly conducts injunction hearings under the Family Law Act 1996 including contested breach proceedings and committals. Furthermore, Lisa also undertakes injunction applications under section 3 of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

Lisa has also attended the Care Standards Tribunal on behalf of an appellant child minder.

Crime

Lisa regularly defends and prosecutes and has experience dealing with offences involving the supply of drugs, public order offences, dishonesty offences, offences against the person and weapons/firearms offences. Further, Lisa is a Grade 2 CPS prosecutor.

In 2006, for a period of 4 weeks, Lisa worked as an in-house advocate for a firm of solicitors. From this experience Lisa has gained an insight into criminal defence work from a solicitor’s perspective. In contrast, Lisa has also worked in house for the Crown Prosecution Service for a period of 6 weeks. During this period Lisa acted as a reviewing lawyer.

Lisa also prosecutes and defends in relation to local authority prosecutions, such as fly tipping, taxi touting, noise abatement issues, benefit fraud and Education Act 1996 matters.

Personal Injury

Lisa regularly advises in relation to quantum for personal injuries sustained, particularly in relation to Part 36 offers and infant approval hearings. Lisa attends court in relation to small claims and fast track trials involving road traffic accidents, and has experience dealing with both special damages and general damages.

Prison Law

Lisa is currently developing a prison law practice primarily focusing upon adjudication hearings and oral hearings regarding a prisoner's recall on licence.
