Practice Profile Sajjad is a civil practitioner who having developed a broad ranging practice, now specialises in the following core areas:
Employment: Undertakes both Claimant and respondent work both in the Employment Tribunal and the Employment Appeal Tribunal. He has experience of claims for unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, victimisation and discrimination. He has also acted at the internal disciplinary stage.
Commercial Litigation: Has acted for both Claimants and Defendants in a wide variety of disputes, ranging from construction to supply of goods and services. He has also been instructed in claims involving professional negligence.
Landlord and Tenant: Acts predominantly in residential matters, often involving anti-social behaviour and under The Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
Media & Defamation – Provides pre-publication advice to a number of national newspapers. Has extensive experience of disputes involving libel, privacy and data protection.
Personal Injury: Advises and acts for both Claimants and Defendant insurers.
Sajjad transferred to the Bar in 2003 having earlier practised as a Commercial Litigator at a well known city firm. Sajjad is qualified under the Public Access to Barristers scheme and is regularly instructed on this basis.
Pro Bono Work
Sajjad is a member of the legal team at the Kurdish Human Rights Project and has provided pro-bono assistance to Liberty.
