Crime:
Simon both prosecuted and defended in the Crown Court in a wide variety of dishonesty, violent, drugs and sexual offences. He prosecuted allegations of blackmail, kidnapping and arson as well as defended in a string of robberies. He also dealt with cases requiring in-depth knowledge of pre- and post-DVCVA 2004 fitness to plead issues and Mental Health Act disposals.

Civil:
He advised and appeared for Claimants and Defendants in multi-track and fast track trials around the country. Simon’s areas of practice include personal injury, landlord and tenant, consumer credit and contract. In addition, he acted in liability and quantum hearings in the general law of tort as well as other miscellaneous hearings.

Immigration:
After successful completion of the inaugural LSC/Bar Council Asylum and Immigration course in 2002, Simon was instructed regularly in a wide range of immigration and asylum cases when he represented clients of many nationalities before the IAA, IAT and AIT.

In 2006 Simon accepted a post as a legislative drafter with the Law Officers of the Crown in Guernsey.
