Education Emily read Sociology at Kent University before completing the CPE and BVC at the College of Law, London. She was awarded the Harmsworth Scholarship from the Middle Temple in 1998. Having undertaken pupillage at Queen Elizabeth Building, Emily was taken on as a tenant at a common law set where she practiced in family and crime. Having gained valuable advocacy experience in both fields Emily sought to specialise in family law and joined these chambers in 2003. Emily regularly presents seminars to members of chambers and solicitors as part of chambers programme of CPD accredited seminars, including presentations on the Civil Partnership Act, Care Proceedings and Updates in Family Law.

Practice Profile Emily’s specialises in family law, having been called to the bar in 1999 and practised exclusively in family since 2003. Her practice is divided between children work and ancillary relief. Children Act work includes applications in respect of residence, contact and leave to remove. Emily is instructed regularly in care proceedings and Part IV Family Law Act matters. She acts on behalf of parents, grandparents, Guardians and Local Authorities.
Emily’s matrimonial practice includes all aspects of divorce and ancillary relief from contested divorces to ancillary relief cases of modest means to those of significant wealth. Emily’s practice is focussed in and around London where she appears in the High Court and regularly at the Principal Registry along with County Courts and Family Proceedings Courts. Emily is also happy to be instructed by solicitors further afield and happy to travel.
