Sophie undertakes personal injury work for claimants and defendants and contract matters in the fast track and small claims track.
Sophie maintains her interest in employment work building on her experience from pupillage, when she worked on lengthy cases for respondent police constabularies.
Family
Sophie is regularly instructed in private law children proceedings, including cases involving local authorities without party status. In public law children proceedings Sophie regularly represents parents, extended family members and local authorities in complex cases.
Sophie often deals with divorce and ancillary relief matters, including cases in the High Court on jurisdiction. She advises on a wide variety of issues including nullity. She is experienced in cohabitees’ claims and Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 matters at all levels from drafting pleadings at the outset of a case through to 5 day final hearings in the High Court.
Her practice encompasses domestic violence and protection from harassment matters, drawing on her past experience as a criminal practitioner.
