Practice Profile
Olivia enjoys a busy common law practice.

Family:

Olivia has experience in all aspects of Family Law: she is regularly instructed in complex care proceedings, dealing with allegations of non-accidental injury including “Shaken Baby Syndrome”, possible factitious illness, and inflicted fractures. Olivia has experience of cases with conflicting expert evidence.

Olivia also deals with a wide range of children’s matters including residence, contact, parental responsibility and leave to remove, as well as injunction applications under both the Family Law Act and the Protection from Harassment Act.

Olivia has given a seminar on the Civil Partnership Act, and is willing to give tailored seminars at solicitors’ offices.

Crime:

Defence: Olivia’s practice is predominantly defence-orientated. Her experience in the Crown Court includes cases involving allegations of fraud, violence, false imprisonment, robbery, drugs, sexual offences, public order, dishonesty and dangerous dogs. Olivia was recently junior defence counsel in a trial of Cheating the Public Revenue.

Olivia also has a wealth of experience in the Magistrates’ and Youth Courts, and has a particular interest in Anti-Social Behaviour Orders.

Prosecution: Olivia prosecutes for the CPS (Grade 2), Probation Service and Local Authorities. Olivia has appeared for the Crown in a number of appeals against conviction and sentence from the Magistrates’ Court to the Crown Court.

Prison Law:

Olivia’s experience ranges from adjudications to Parole Board hearings arguing for de-categorisation and release.

Civil:

Olivia advises and appears for both Claimants and Defendants in a range of civil proceedings, in particular road traffic accidents and contractual disputes.
