A career at the self-employed Bar can be very stressful, and we are conscious that our members and staff frequently work long hours on cases which are legally demanding and involve clients in pressurised and emotional circumstances. We provide informal support networks including a regular ‘Chambers Tea’ for all members, a monthly book club, and a buddy scheme for pupils. We operate an open door policy within Chambers, and members are encouraged to turn to each other for help and support.

We have a formal email policy and do not expect members or staff to deal with emails before 9am, after 6pm or over the weekend.
