Meet our newest tenant: Benjamin Pitman

Benjamin Pitman Benjamin Pitman 12th May 2025

We are delighted to welcome Benjamin Pitman as a full tenant of Chambers following successful completion of a shortened pupillage. Ben is a family specialist building a strong practice in financial disputes and private children cases.

Ben qualified as a solicitor in 2019, and worked at a number of specialist family law firms, latterly Peters May LLP where he worked on high net worth divorces including Rotenberg v Rotenberg & Ors [2024] EWFC 185 (representing the 7th respondent in proceedings involving a Russian billionaire with assets of £1.8 billion). He also a negotiated a mid-nuptial agreement for a client with £100 million in assets; and was the lead solicitor on a £3 million cross-jurisdictional financial remedy case. Ben also acted in numerous private children disputes, and assisted in complex parental alienation proceedings.

In addition to his work for clients, Ben was nominated for the Family Law Young Solicitor of the Year award at the LexisNexis Family Law Awards 2022, and was a member of the Resolution Cohabitation Committee.

Ben transferred to the Bar at the end of September 2024, and has made an incredibly positive start to his career. He has quickly proven himself to be a favourite of solicitors and clients alike. Feedback regularly refers to the fact that he is extremely well prepared, efficient and fights hard for his clients.

Ben has a great interest in the development of family law, and has written for the Financial Remedies Journal during pupillage. He has shown great initiative in his work, successfully arguing for a Mesher Order in one of his early cases despite everyone else involved in the case suggesting that the judge would not be persuaded to make such an order. He employs all of his skills and experience to get the very best outcomes for his clients.

Feedback from clients includes the following:

"Benjamin was incredibly well-prepared for the hearing. He had clearly studied my case thoroughly, knew all the relevant details, and arrived on time, ready to represent me effectively. I can confidently say he is one of the best barristers I’ve had in the past year.

What stood out most was how attentive he was to my concerns. He listened carefully, understood the situation, and recognized how [my former husband] was being dishonest. Benjamin was well-equipped with the right responses and confidently addressed all the points [my former husband] attempted to manipulate."

"He was, without a doubt, the best barrister I have had since beginning legal proceedings against my abuser. Having worked with multiple barristers throughout both my child custody and financial proceedings, I can confidently say that Mr. Pitman stood out above the rest and I am incredibly grateful for his representation."

Head of Chambers Abimbola Badejo welcomed Ben to Chambers saying "We are delighted to have a new tenant of Ben's calibre joining our highly regarded family team. We are excited to watch as his career inevitably goes from strength to strength here."
