Meet our newest tenant: Jack Ceruti-Owen

Jack Ceruti-Owen Jack Ceruti-Owen 1st April 2025

We are delighted to welcome Jack Ceruti-Owen to Chambers as a full member following completion of his probationary tenancy. Jack joined our Family team in October 2024, and has received great feedback from clients, solicitors and the judiciary in his first 6 months with us.

Prior to becoming a barrister, Jack was a professional golfer playing all over the world. His focus, determination and ability to remain calm under pressure are all skills which have set him in very good stead for his career as a barrister.

Jack practices exclusively in private family law disputes, dealing with financial remedies, children matters (including special guardianship orders) and injunction proceedings. He has acted in hearings from FHDRAs and FDAs to fact finds and final hearings.

Jack has also gained experience in international family law, including acting in a reported case regarding the recognition of a Nigerian adoption - KA & Anor v B [2024] EWHC 2855 (Fam). Jack is currently instructed in a similar case in the High Court, and is looking forward to expanding his international work. Jack is also regularly instructed in respect of injunctions, in particular where there are allegations of domestic abuse.

Jack has impressed lay clients, solicitors and judges with his careful preparation, high quality advocacy, and ability to win the trust of his clients. Jack received the following comments from a Recorder:

"Jack Owen was before me last month and I have finalised my order today following circulation of a written judgment.

I wanted to let you know that his advocacy and general handling of a tricky case were noticeably impressive – going beyond the “counsel has done everything possible for his client” mantra."

Our Head of Chambers, Abimbola Badejo said "I am very pleased to welcome Jack to Chambers and wish him the very best for a long and happy career here."

More information about Jack's practice is available on his profile. To instruct Jack, please contact Jay Dorton
