The case of Re D [2022] EWHC 3602 (Fam) concerned an application under the inherent jurisdiction of the High Court for the recognition of foreign Guardianship Orders. Dr Onyoja Momoh persuaded the court that the guardianships were effectively adoptions which lawfully constituted and created family life akin to a permanent legal relationship.
