Pupils go on their feet!
We wish our pupils well today as they take to their feet! This marks the beginning of their Second 6 – the second 6 months of their year long pupillage leading to full qualification at the end of September 2025.
As an advocacy focussed set, we like to get our pupils in court as soon as possible. Helena says that "I am really excited to put everything I have learned into practice and to start advising in my own right. I am also looking forward to meeting my clients, learning about their cases and working my hardest to represent them to the best of my ability."
Everyone in Chambers wishes Helena and Sophia the very best as they take this next exciting step in their pupillage.

Helena Khullar
Helena Khullar is pursuing a mixed practice in all areas of Chambers work – civil, criminal and family work. She has been supervised in her first six by Mark Eldridge and Kate Round. Helena has seen a cross section of work from the civil, family and criminal teams as well as work in the Court of Protection.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Helena worked as a paralegal at Stewarts assisting a partner who specialised in multi-million pound catastrophic brain and spinal cord injury claims. Her background in a law firm, and understanding of the pressures faced by solicitors and lay clients, helps her to relate to clients and to appreciate the sort of information and support that they require. She is personable and friendly.
In addition to her legal knowledge, Helena has a strong commitment to justice and some of her many charitable activities include volunteering in a pro bono clinic in Paris; taking cases for the Free Representation Unit; mentoring 6th form students applying for university; directing a play which raised money for Clean Break (a charity helping women who have been through the criminal justice system to gain qualifications); volunteering for Haringey Migrant Support Centre; and cycling to Paris fundraising for Back Up (a charity that supports people affected by spinal cord injury).
Helena speaks good French, as well as some Spanish and Mandarin.

Sophia Rolt
Sophia is pursuing a specialist family pupillage, and has been under the supervision of Catherine Sparks and Kevin Gordon. She accepts instructions in all types of children cases, financial remedy disputes, and domestic abuse.
Sophia qualified as a solicitor at Macfarlanes in 2021 and joined the litigation and disputes team. She advised private clients on international contentious trust, probate and succession disputes, as well as Court of Protection proceedings. She also advised on employment, corporate, fraud and financial services litigation. Sophia has a very good understanding of the rules, process and tactics of litigation and of client care. In 2023, in preparation for pupillage, she became a Legal Advisor in the Magistrates Court, advising in family cases.
In addition to her professional work in the legal system, Sophia has volunteered at St Hilda's East Legal Advice Centre; Croydon Law Centre Debt Advice Clinic; the Free Representation Unit; and Familyline.
