Court of Protection: modern jurisdictions for the vulnerable

Join our CoP team to consider the overlap and distinction between the modern jurisdictions for the vulnerable - as a child under the Children Act 1989, as an adult under the Mental Capacity Act 2005, the mentally disordered under Mental Health Act 1983, and the High Court’s remaining inherent jurisdiction for the vulnerable where your case just doesn’t fall into any of those categories. Our aim is to help practitioners distinguish what jurisdiction to use and when, and to get insight into the way the other jurisdictions work.
