When
Monday 10th February 2025, 10am - 11.30am
Event details
Cases brought under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 can be tricky as they cross the civil and criminal jurisdictions. Join us for a webinar with barristers who specialise in these cases and have experience in both civil and criminal courts to learn more about how to prosecute and defend these cases; points to look out for and tactical considerations.
This webinar is exclusive to LBLA members - registration details will be circulated to members in due course.
The presenters are Archie Maddan and Chris Payne.
Archie Maddan
Archie is a specialist in property regulatory work, and frequently represents local authorities and other landlords in the civil and criminal courts and the Residential Property Tribunal. He is particularly sought out for cases relating to HMOs and to disrepair of tenanted property, and frequently acts in the leading cases in the area. Archie has a strong understanding of local authority work, having headed the prosecution and litigation team at the London Borough of Enfield.
Chris Payne
Chris is a property law specialist with a particular focus on matters arising out of the landlord and tenant relationship in both a residential and commercial context, including forfeiture and lease renewal, disrepair and defective premises, dilapidations, service charges, rights of way and easements. Chris is regularly instructed by institutional landlords including local authorities and housing associations.
