Biography

Kate is a criminal specialist who is now an employed barrister working in the Crown Prosecution Service. Whilst in Chambers, she prosecuted and defended criminal cases in the Crown Court, including multi-handed trials and confiscation hearings. She was instructed in a wide range of cases, including s.18 GBH and other offences against the person; burglary; robbery; weapons offences; drugs cases; sexual offences; and identity document offences. Local authority work included benefit fraud, counterfeit goods offences; offences under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and the Environmental Protection Act 1990; and licensing matters including applications before licensing sub-committees and licensing appeals.
