Biography

Alex is a probationary tenant in our civil team. He undertook pupillage with the Government Legal Department and Cornerstone Barristers. At the GLD he was involved with a number of high profile immigration challenges, defending complicated judicial review proceedings. At Cornerstone Barristers he gained experience in housing and planning cases, as well as undertaking advocacy for the GLD.

Alex has experience of cases under the Environmental Protection Act, of drafting applications relating to Anti-Social Behaviour orders for local authorities, and of drafting defences and advice in other housing matters such as possession, disrepair and succession. He has also been involved in judicial review proceedings relating to planning matters.

Alex accepts instructions in all aspects of civil litigation, and is building his practice in this area. He is thorough, diligent and confident in his advocacy. He gets very good feedback from solicitors, including this recent comment: "Absolutely fantastic result! We’re all so happy with it. Thank you SO much!!!! 😊 So happyI look forward to working with you again."

He is committed to pro bono work and has completed the Pupil Pledge for Advocate during his second six taking on advocacy, advice and drafting in an employment case.
