Biography
Dylan completed his pupillage with the Crown Prosecution Service in 2024. Prior to coming to the Bar, he worked on the disclosure team at the Infected Blood Inquiry and for a charity supporting victims of human trafficking. In that role, he assisted clients in securing positive Conclusive Grounds decisions through the National Referral Mechanism and worked closely with legal teams in advancing a Modern Slavery Defence.
Before qualifying as a barrister, Dylan also worked in international development, undertaking placements in Malawi, Ghana and Tanzania. These roles required him to build trust quickly and work sensitively with individuals from diverse backgrounds — skills which now underpin his ability to gain clients’ confidence and present their evidence effectively.
Following pupillage, Dylan practiced as a Crown Advocate, prosecuting a substantial caseload in both the Magistrates’ Court and the Crown Court. He regularly conducted hearings ranging from PTPHs and case management hearings to contested trials, often managing multiple matters and applications within the same court day. He later worked as a Senior Crown Prosecutor within the Crown Court Team, reviewing and preparing cases ranging from serious domestic violence to fraud. His combined experience in both advocacy and case review provides him with valuable insight into prosecution decision-making and case strategy. He accepts instructions in all criminal proceedings, including private prosecutions.
Dylan welcomes instructions on behalf of defendants. Drawing on his prosecution background, he provides clear and pragmatic advice on evidential strength, prospects of success, and acceptable pleas. He has secured acquittals in contested matters, including in a case involving an allegation of possession of a bladed article where his client’s DNA was found on the handle of the knife.
