Biography
As Chambers Director at 5 Pump Court, Toby is responsible for the strategic leadership and day-to-day operational management of Chambers. Working closely with the Head of Chambers, the Management Committee and members, he ensures the efficient running of Chambers while delivering an exceptional level of service to both barristers and clients.
With over 10 years' experience as a Senior Clerk at a leading regional set, Toby brings extensive expertise in chambers management, operational leadership and practice development. His experience covers every aspect of chambers administration, including financial and business planning, regulatory compliance, governance, IT infrastructure, risk management, and the implementation of policies and operational procedures.
Toby leads the clerking team, supporting their professional development and fostering a culture of excellence in client care and service delivery. He works closely with solicitors, professional clients and members to strengthen existing relationships, develop new business opportunities and ensure Chambers continues to provide a responsive and high-quality service across all practice areas.
He also oversees Chambers' marketing and business development strategy, helping to enhance the profile of 5 Pump Court Chambers and support its continued growth. As Chambers' first point of contact for complaints, data protection matters and regulatory enquiries, Toby plays a key role in ensuring compliance with professional and statutory obligations while promoting best practice throughout Chambers.
