We are very pleased to confirm that three members of our family law team have been listed as leading juniors in the Legal 500 2025 for their expertise in children law and domestic abuse.

Onyója is once again ranked in Band 3, and is particularly well known for her international work both in respect of child abduction, and advice and expertise on moving children into and out of the UK. She has a strong background in complex care proceedings and often represents parties in care proceedings where there is an international element, or provides expert evidence about the implications of moving children. 

Onyója is also a well known academic and regularly contributes to publications and conferences in the UK and overseas. September saw the publication of her latest chapter in the Research Handbook on International Family Law entitled "Intercountry Adoption: Preventing and Addressing Illicit Practices", as well as a joint webinar about female genital mutilation with clients from Cameroon who are actively pushing for the law on forced marriage/FGM to be changed.

Trisan is again ranked in Band 5 having had a very busy year with a wide range of complex children proceedings. She has an extremely busy practice, and is in demand with solicitors looking for someone with extensive experience of complex children law cases, and a willingness to fight very hard for her clients. Trisan has a calm and very professional approach, and is frequently instructed by clients who have particular needs or vulnerabilities. 

Trisan also has expertise in DoLs cases, and particularly those where DoLs and care proceedings overlap. In the last year, she has acted for the mother of a young child who is subject to DoLs restrictions in order to ensure that the correct support is in place for the child. She has also acted for clients who are profoundly deaf; have significant learning difficulties; and for a special guardian in respect of a child whose parents had alcohol and drug dependencies.

Kevin is ranked in Band 6, and is a firm favourite with clients who appreciate his charisma, presence in court, and ability to build rapport with lay and professional clients quickly.

Kevin has been at the forefront of many complex cases including non-accidental injuries, deprivation of liberty, mental health and substance misuse and child neglect amongst others. He is renowned for finding solutions to any problems that a case may present. He has written for Family Law Week about co-sleeping, an niche area of work where he has experience.
